Torrey Pines State Park, named after the Torrey Pines tree that grows there, is a picturesque place for hiking, running, & biking along its miles of trails and wilderness. At the bottom of the park is its beach, perfect for swimming & surfing. Torrey Pines Golf Course is situated at the top of the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean and one of the most scenic golf courses on the PGA Tour. The course is comprised of two incredible 18-hole championship quality courses & also home to the Buick Invitational, a venue that brings in the best golfers in the world. Feeling adventurous? Head over to the Torrey Pines Glider Port for hang gliding or paragliding over the beautiful La Jolla coastline.
La Jolla Shores is a popular local & visitors beach. La Jolla Cove is a protected marine sanctuary and one of the best places in town for a safe swim, snorkeling, scuba diving, or kayaking. La Jolla’s coastline offers the Children’s Pool, a man-made beach protected by a sea wall & home to many seals. A bit further North you’ll find a dirt path leading to the top of Deadman’s Bluff, or you can descend a tunnel in the basement of the old Curio Shop to visit Sunny Jim’s Cave.
